On Monday, June 30th, 2010 in the Sokolowski Cultural Center (Sokolowski Osrodek Kultury) in Sokolów Podlaski, the Embassy of Israel to Poland organized the official ceremony of awarding posthumously medals and honorary diplomas to four Polish heroes, Righteous Among the Nations: [more]

On 2nd-5th September 2009 the first meeting within the framework of the European Falcon Towns Partnership project was held in Sokolow Podlaski. The participants were representatives of Montefalco (Italy), Sokolov (Czech Republic), Sokolov Malopolski and Sokolow Podlaski (Poland). [more]

On 8th June the 'ICT development in local governments of the mazowieckie voivodeship'  workshop, within the framework of the 'Innovative Mazovia' project was held. [more]

On 28-30 May 2009 the 8th European Folk Meetings The Bug River took place in Sokolow Podlaski. The participants were groups from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Nepal, and Poland. The groups had their perfomances on the stage of the community centre. The gala concert began by saying the mass at Saint John Bosco's church and then the parade down the streets of the town. [more]

On 9 March 2009 representatives of the Sokolow Podlaski municipality were hosted in the town of Sokolov, Czech Republic. [more]

The Sokolow Podlaski municipality took the initiative to organize the "European Partnership of Falcon Towns" project, together with European towns, which have a falcon in their names or crests. The first town which answered the appeal was Montefalco, Italy. The Mayor of Montefalco, Mr Valentino Valentini was our guest on 4 - 7 January 2009. The representatives of both towns signed a letter of intent. [more]

On November 20 in the Belweder Palace the Mayor of Sokolow Podlaski, Mr Boguslaw Karakula, was decorated with the Silver Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland. The distinctions were being given by the Secretary of State, Mr Wladyslaw Stasiak.
